meals at our ryokan *

Meals at our ryokan are an essential part of your retreat experience, a refined expression of traditional Japanese hospitality and aesthetics, exceptional seasonal and local ingredients, with a fine dining style. Our location is remote, and we are honored that the chef has agreed to accommodate two menu styles just for our group. Traditional Japanese cuisine uses very little gluten, so if you typically avoid gluten but are not allergic, we don’t believe you will require a gluten free menu. Gluten is mostly in the form of soy sauce (there is no bread, pasta or wheat noodles). If you are very sensitive to fish (bones, taste, texture) or have a non-adventurous palate, we recommend choosing the vegetarian option. Please choose your menu mindfully, the ryokan team prepares every meal with care, and last-minute changes are not possible. If you have any questions about the meals do not hesitate reach out, please know also that your final decision about the menu can be changed up to the week before the retreat.
